Taking the Sherpa bus around the popular areas of northern Snowdonia will now only cost a £1. Formalised verge-side parking by the Pen y Gwryd completed. Pen y Pass car parking charges increase but its public facilities are set to improve.
At a recent special meeting of the Executive Committee of the Snowdonia Green Key Partnership it was decided to proceed with a scheme to regulate the parking at Pen y Gwryd, install pay and display machines and create a Traffic Order to prevent parking in some areas.
In response to the recent spate of accidents on Snowdonia's mountains, the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) has issued a statement aimed at anyone thinking of venturing into the hills. It highlights the importance of good judgement and decision making, acquired through experience.

terminated on 31 March 2009, the partnership which supports the work of
the project has written to the Government to express their
dissatisfaction and concern.

new scheme.
